Once again the second installment of Legends Prime will include a tribute to father-son duos who plied their trade as wrestlers. This time it’s the Stasiak family!
Stan Stasiak wrestled all over the United States and Canada as well as Japan. His bruising heart punch was feared by his opponents and he was always a top challenger for belts wherever he went. Whether challenging Bruno Sammartino, Nick Bockwinkel and or Jack Brisco, Stasiak was a strong contender. Perhaps the pinnacle of his career was winning a version of the World Heavyweight Championship in Philadelphia for a major promotion.
His son, Shawn Stasiak, followed in his footsteps. Shawn was featured on national television for the two largest promotions during his career. He competed with a virtual who’s who of the top talent of the era including the likes of Curt Hennig and Kurt Angle. While he never matched his father’s achievement as a World Champion, Shawn had multiple tag team title and hardcore title reigns.
