Jerry Blackwell was one of the most agile big men in professional wrestling history. Billed as the “Mountain from Stone Mountain”, the Georgia native combined tremendous size with surprising athleticism, earning fame for his standing dropkick and hard-hitting offense. Blackwell debuted in 1974 and competed throughout the territory system. During this time, he challenged Bob Backlund for a version of the World Heavyweight Championship.
Landing in the Midwest, Blackwell engaged in a feud with the legendary Crusher over the “Crusher” moniker. Blackwell formed a successful tag team with Ken Patera, capturing the World Tag Team Championship. During this time, the hated duo feuded over the titles with Mad Dog Vachon, Verne Gagne, Greg Gagne, Jim Brunzell, the Crusher and Baron Von Raschke. After being betrayed by Brusier Brody and Abdullah the Butcher, he heard the fans’ cheers and teamed with Sgt. Slaughter, Greg Gagne, and Curt Hennig, against Brody, Abdullah, Boris Zhukov, Masked Superstar, and Nord the Barbarian, who were all part of an infamous “army!”
Filsinger Games is proud to release Legends Expansion XIV in December 2026. Blackwell is the first name announced for this big year-end release.
