Cora Combs was an aspiring country singer living in Nashville, TN. That was until she went to a pro wrestling show in 1949 headlined by Mildred Burke and got the wrestling bug. She went on to train to be a wrestler and joined one of the most famous women’s wrestling troupes of the day. Combs traveled the world wrestling, went on to win major titles and was inducted in multiple Halls of Fame.
