Indies Promoters are starting their 2026 Promoter Prime off with a dose of realistic throw-based and submission based grapplers as Shayna Baszler and Spencer Slade headline this spring!
Baszler, who announcers often call the “Queen of Spades, got her competitive career started in the world of professional mixed-martial arts before transitioning into the world of professional wrestling more than ten years ago. In her short career, Baszler made a name for herself with her brutal submission style wrestling in the rings of Indies professional wrestling, including Shimmer Women Athletes, before moving to the developmental brand of the largest professional wrestling organization in the world. While in the promotion’s developmental brand, Baszler won the women’s title on two separate occasions, holding it for more than 500 days combined. Baszler also won, once promoted to the largest wrestling promotion in the world, their women’s tag team titles on three separate occasions.
Slade, who is known as the Submission Suplex Machine, has skyrocketed up the Indies standings since his debut in 2019. In his short professional career, Slade has experienced both singles and tag team success, forming a formidable duo with fellow Indies star, Mike Mondo, and winning the world junior heavyweight title of a promotion that has existed for more than 75 years from Alex Taylor. Slade still currently holds that title and also has won a prestigious indies tournament in 2025 that included wrestling stars like Trevor Lee, Jake Something, Alan Angels, and LaBron Koozie.
