One of independent wrestling’s biggest social media influencers, coming in a height of 6’12” tall, and a weight of 15% of a metric ton, “Big Trouble” Ben Bishop headlines this fall’s Indies Promoter Prime!
Bishop, a six-year professional wrestling veteran, got his start in the business after he completed his training in the state of Maryland. Prior to that, Bishop played collegiate basketball for four years at the University of Vermont.
Once he commenced his wrestling career, in multiple independent promotions across the Mid-Atlantic region and the northeast, his powerhouse wrestling style based on brutal ring-shaking slams gained him a large following. As he completed more matches, Bishop began to get bookings across the United States in multiple prominent nationwide promotions, including multiple matches in the second-largest promotion in the United States, as well as prominent northeast promotions like Beyond Wrestling. Bishop’s national reputation exploded in 2023 when he began to film and share on social media comedic videos and skits that poke fun at aspects of the wrestling business today, creating such characters as Tr1bal Keith. Recently, Bishop’s quality work in the ring has drawn the attention of some of the biggest stars in wrestling. During a video podcast, fellow Filsinger Games’ Indies star, Matt Cordona, named Ben Bishop and Richard Holliday as the two best wrestlers in independent wrestling today.
Bishop’s career has seen him earn titles across many independent wrestling promotions and has also seen him share the ring with some of the best Indies stars of the day including the previously mentioned Cordona and Holliday, Matt Riddle, Shaza McKenzie, Killer Kross, Sam Adonis, Alexander Hammerstone, Dante Casanova, Josh Bishop, and Madman Fulton. He has also shared the ring with legends of the sport including Danny Doring and the Blue Meanie.
